The situation of street children remains a growing global issue that demands social action to protect children's rights to existence, healthcare, and education. This qualitative study was conducted to determine the existence of street children in San Carlos City, focusing on the perceptions and experiences of barangay officials and police officers. Using semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the study revealed that economic hardship was the primary reason children are driven to the streets, and that programs like feeding, educational initiatives, and gift-giving are the most common activities conducted to assist them. However, disjuncture of interest among authorities and the public poses significant challenges to effective program implementation. The study concluded that while efforts are being made by barangay leaders and police officers, additional strategies are needed to overcome challenges and fully uphold the rights and welfare of street children.
